CRASH (2004) THE MOVIE

11 comments:

  1. Prejudice

In the movie Crash, the bias shows no limit of people that actually live in the world of globalization that also seems to have no limits.
The movie turns around the whole racial, social and economic ethnocentrism evidenced by the dominant groups of globalization.
It also shows the abuse of power and arrogance of people who take certain positions and, eventually reversing their roles.

We are entered in a globalized and capitalist world in which only look at each other to take advantage of things that are in their own interest.
We are reaching a point where people are losing their identity because we have to be subjected to understand each other because the best view is the view of a point, or whether we have to stand in the shoes of others and learn evil we cause with prejudice xenophobic, ethnocentric and so on.

  2. Moral values are good lessons that parents should teach, not only concepts but also examples for their children. These lessons should contribute to good relations with others, whether at home, on the street, at school or at work. When I say that moral values should be taught by their parents is because I believe it is their responsibility, anyway and that the school has a duty only to strengthen these values.
Respect the elderly, helping those in need (not only financial support but also give good advice, listen to an outburst, among others), respect the teachers treat people regardless of race, color, religion or sexual orientation of each are examples of moral values.
When moral values are forgotten or are not taught, then we'll have prejudices in our society. I will cite two examples of bias below. The first example is a racial bias and the second is sexism.
First example: One day, late at night, three boys, one black and two white, walked on the streets of a city and kicked a can (soda or beer), when they were approached by the police. The police thought they were troublemakers or criminals and treated them as such, offended them with words, but only the black was physically assaulted. These officers certainly have not learned or have lost their moral values.
Second example: In the past, women from small learned that they should marry, have children, be submissive to her husband, namely washing, ironing and cooking, working out and that it was not the duty of man. After much struggle, women were able to be independent. Today they work out and still manage to meet all other obligations: wife, mother and housekeeper. We have women working in all fields of work that were previously exclusively to men. Whoever thought many years ago that our country would be ruled by a woman? But despite all show our ability in the labor market, there are still places where women receive lower pay than the man himself performing the same function.
Moral values are independent of social class and educational level, as to respect the other is not to be rich or have a doctorate but empathize.

  4. Preconceito e Discriminação

Prejudice is an attitude or preconceived idea, an attitude of alienation to everything that escapes the "standards" of a society. The main forms are: racial, social, sexual and religious. It is noteworthy that the first two, the racial and social, are forms of prejudice that are happening more frequently or explicitly.
Racial prejudice, or racism, is a violation of human rights, since, historically, it has been used to justify slavery and the domination of some peoples over others.
When we talk about discrimination and social prejudice think a very real example, the existence of slums and gated communities as close as physically and socially distant.
Although there are laws against prejudice, they are ineffective because they do not inhibit the practice of discrimination that is already ingrained in the culture of people.
But what can we do to change the thinking bigot? I believe the best way to "finish" or to minimize it, is through education both at school and at home, instill values of equality and respect, investment in social change and acceptance of different and, especially, in the practice of tolerance.

  5. The prejudice against a person simply because of their skin color is an ignorance, for character, dignity are not defined by this condition. Even that, especially in the case of Brazil, there is nobody who is a descendant of the black population. The economic condition of the black population has historically been impaired. So there are some attempts of society in this reparrar violence. Among them, we have a policy of racial quotas. It's a valid attempt, but just now acting in a prejudicial manner since the beginning of the process. For it will say that people who entered the university using this feature, would not have the ability to be there, if not the policy of quotas. I believe that regardless of the historical condition all have the capacity. Everyone has to be respected above all a human being. For runs in our veins the same blood, regardless of skin color, multiethnic religion, race, sexual orientation or economic condition. For Jesus Christ has taught us: "Love one another as themselves."
Some people to try on position of power, end up feeling superior to others. This can be seen in schools, where some times coordinators and directors act in an authoritarian manner. Actions that would not acted up without the condition of power given to them. For as Lord Acton said "Power corrupts people." We must mention that according to the same author the word "corrupt" does not refer necessarily to the practice of corruption. The meaning is much broader and means the transformation that takes place in the individual who is elevated to positions of power that make it different from other citizens.

  6. Crash film

One of the plots most touching of the film is one that involves the character Hispanic Daniel. He has a daughter named Elizabeth, who hides under the bed for fear of stray bullets that she hears at night, although they are now living in a neighborhood safer and more urbanized. She tells this fact to his father, who gives a gift invisible cloak to protect her. Daniel is discriminated twice in one day.
The first is when he realized a work at the home of prosecutor Rick because he was hired to change the locks due to the shock of Jean after the traumatic experience of the assault. Seeing Daniel to execute the service at her door, she notices the tattoos and imagines that he would belong to a gang of drug dealers, and that he could keep for himself copies of the keys of new locks.
The second time that Daniel suffers prejudice is when he is changing the locks on the merchant's store Persian Golzari, that still scared by the violence against Muslims. After to realize the service, Daniel tells to the merchant to be sure that the store really it will need that he changes every door and not just the lock. Golzari disagrees, saying that the door is safe and refuses to change it. However, the refusal to Golzari is not motivated only by his prejudice against the Hispanic (thought that Daniel wanted to take advantage of its weakness), but also because it is difficult to understand the arguments, in perfect English, keychain Daniel.
The issue of immigrants is a complicated theme, because, believing in the utopia that could have better conditions of life in another country, many people change their homes by the uncertainty of a more promising future in another country. However, hardly achieve that they imagined, on the contrary, they live precariously and always with fear.
It is necessary to analyze the existing social demands in all territories, considering the needs, interests and realities of each segment of society, and respecting their particularities and specificities. Each environment - city, neighborhood, country, etc. - it has a socio-cultural diversity that cannot be ignored, as this reality is that start a work of social care so that this problem no longer exists (illegal migration) and as to know the that make when it social fact comes happen.

Crash is a movie that shows a portrait of a society marked by prejudice. This, however, is not reflected in the naive formula black-white, but is shown as a multicolored and complex reality: black, white, Muslim, Latino, poor, rich.
The film differs from many other films about racism quite impartial in his approach to the issue. Instead of separating the characters into victims and aggressors, victims of racism are often shown to be a racist if in different contexts and situations. Moreover, racist comments and actions are often shown to result from ignorance and misunderstanding, rather than a malicious personality.

  8. Prejudice in the World

Religion has a very strong speech alienating empreguina in the human soul, and within a discourse clamufado people who do not have an intellectual level acute committing racism, or we can say for sins, God is love He will not delete or decrease a person, rather He will welcome it and loves it, the exclusion is only ignorance and lack of knowledge, because everyone has rights to make their choices come and go away without type.

  9. THE ROLE OF MEDIA TODAY

Currently the media has a very large social position this context, which is to inform poplulação.
There are a lot of information in newspapers, magazines and television. Plus the media is alienating a job with the defilement which has 80% study and therefore can not understand this speech false and alienating.
Let us recall that the media is a company that turns a lot of money and interests that covers only a small group and turning this information in society is distorted and the truth is hidden
We realize it at the time of the policy, when the media has a canidato preferred, then they use all kinds of discourse to elect their preferred canidato, also when the media comes out with links to an advertisement with a speech very strong, and soon people think that will be accepted in the social environment if using this product ... etc.
To combat this discourse is necessary to study to develop a critical awareness in society and also be an agent of transformation in comonidade living. So we will change over time and certainly the media will have to change his speech.

  10. Prejudice:
Prejudice is the biggest obstacle to human relations.
It is malefic in every way imaginable. It divides us and make us bitter and insensitive people. It mischaracterizes us as human beings. It is most responsible for great slaughters, countless wars that could have been avoided. Anyway, prejudice is the greatest enemy of peace among all people.

  11. Reflection on prejudice ( Movie)

"In Los Angeles nobody touches you. We're always behind metal and glass. I think feel so missed of this touch, that we hit each other just to feel something. "(Phrase of Crash)”
In spite of film's plot have unfolded in Los Angeles, USA, the topics that were addressed, can be clearly seen in our daily life. The absence of ethics and the intolerance has increased the tension and insecurity. Separatist movements spread racism, xenophobia and discord, corruption or abuse of power by the police - which should serve society; scandals-that our representatives have an obligation to care for the people, causing losses to the population in any political inclusive, supportive, pluralistic, ethical and fair.
Prejudice guides our everyday actions, even when we do not realize. We are people capable of a contemptible attitude that the next moment, they act in a noble and correct. All are subject to good and bad deeds, but they are almost always linked to an action of some sort of bias. Therefore, how human beings, we must realize that our culture is not worse or better than the existing ones, just different and to live in a better world, we must learn to live with these differences.
